Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
