"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a separate tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate placed a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
